Anyone test memory on their new ACER laptops?
What is the best way to test the laptop for errors?
Running memTEST86 3.2 and v 1.65+ both FAIL on this new
Acer Aspire 5102 with the 1GB of memory. (128MB allocated to video in BIOS)
Does the shared memory cause some bogus errors perhaps or are these real?
Need to send this one back already - I hope not!
Was wondering if ACER uses a good memory brand
normally or if there are other ways to TEST properly?
Anyone please?
Prime95 ran 10mins with no errors. Is this a good sign?
Also is there a good way to access the hidden partition to get the
install files for backup, etc.

Are you having any problems with the laptop?
-
clearly if memtest 86+ failed there is a problem.
pull 1 stick and run it again over night to rule out a confliction with duel channel on that pc.
Test each stick individually and get back to us -
I tested 3 laptops, all failing randomly and posted in the memtest forum as well. Someone mentioned a BIOS bug with the 5102. Anyhow, can some others please test theirs as well? I bet you will get errors in memtest. Since memtest is failing, what besides prime95 and superpi is any good? I have never seen memtest fail like this. I think the failing is memtest letting us down in this case.
