Hi guys...yeah, I know it's a pretty old Laptop now.
I'm presently running Vista Home Premium on this Laptop. (With 2 GB of RAM).
The thing is, it originally came with XP, and I received the free Vista "upgrade" DVD from Acer way back when. (A couple of years ago?)
Now, I've acquired a retail Windows 7 Home Premium "upgrade" DVD.
Can I do an upgrade with this to Windows 7, and more importantly, has anyone done it on an older Laptop like this?
If so, does everything work?
I was wondering if this would be a problem, since it's already been "upgraded" to Vista with the "Acer" Vista upgrade disk, and now this is a retail (upgrade), copy of Windows 7 Home Premium...(nothing to do with any sort of special "Acer upgrade offer").
Any problems doing this?
Thanks for any comments or suggestions.

Thought I would bump this up one last time just in case. (Original post is over 2 weeks old).
Hope you don't mind...(and more than that, I'd love to get a reply or two).
I suppose my real question is, are drivers available for this Laptop and Windows 7? (I don't see them anywhere on the Acer site...guess they figure it's too old a Notebook to even bother?)
I know it will run Windows 7, because it runs Vista just fine and it's been my experience that Windows 7 runs faster and better on the same hardware. (At least that was the case on one of my desktop machines).
My biggest concern, is that I will lose any "special" Acer features, such as on-screen volume displays etc. (Unless Windows 7 may automatically find drivers for those features).
Is anyone here running Windows 7 on an older Aspire 5102WLMi like mine?
Thanks for any replies.
Aspire 5102WLMi to Windows 7 Home Premium?
