    Hello,

I want to upgrade my NT with additional RAM. I already have DDR2 1024 mb 533mhz RAM, so i thought some additional 2gb would be great.

I just wonder from all the DDR2 memories how to find one which would be suitable for my computer.

I'd like to purchase 667 mhz memory, wouldn't be it problem when I have 553 and 667 simultaneously?

So I'd like an advise which memory would be suitable :)

If you buy 667 ram with the 533, it will automatically downclock to 533 mhz.

Oh, that's new and important news for me! Thank you.

So one side of the problem is dealt with. Now could someone tell me if my notebook model support 2GB memories? Some tech on acer support told me that aspire 5103 is designed to work with up to 1gb memory packs only, but it seems weird to me..

I'd like to upgrade to 3gb to get best available memory on XP.

I've just searched your model and it's saying you can have 4gb max, but if you go to crucial, and download the scan tool, it should tell you what you can have:

The aspire 5100 series supports a maximum of 4Gb of memory, that means you can have 2x2Gb memory modules installed (i.e. each memory bank supports a 2Gb memory module).
