Following a recent software upgrade I was able to carry out a little back to back 5135 testing on T9xxx cpus.

The experience index figures are below. Please note these are not scientific measures of performance!

    T9300Retail T9500ES
    CPU 5.0 5.5
    Memory 5.0 5.0
    Graphics 3.2 3.2
    Gaming Graphics 3.4 3.4
    Hard Disk 5.5 5.5

The system is running a clean installed Vista 32 SP1, 3Gb Kingston HyperX 667/4 Ram, 7200rpm Hitachi HD

How did you get 3GB of HyperX RAM? I thought they only came in packs of 2x1GB and 2x2GB.

My son had 2x1Gb in his Dell laptop and he was pretty happy to swap me a 1Gb for a 2Gb. :D

We both have 32 bit OSes so 3Gb isn't too much of a hardship.

I'm not surprised that the Memory score drops when going from a C2D to a Celeron, but graphics and hard drive too?

Geez, now I'm tempted to get a T8300/T9300 at some point soon.

    even T5450s have better numbers... not $300 better #s ,,, but $60 better #'s ;)

but the t8 or t9300 are great CPUS ... a T5450 ($60 and up) is weak by comparison,,, but still much better than a celeron in many ways...

A quick update to the numbers following a clean Vista install with the T9300 in place during the install (the T9500ES was in place last time).

Many thanks to James (Jc55) for the stock numbers and much clearer format!

    ---------------T9300Retail--T9500ES-stock530-T9300 in place
    -------------------------------------Celeron---during OS install
    CPU----------------5.0-------5.5 ----- 3.9---------5.4
    Memory ------------5.0-------5.0------4.5---------5.0
    Graphics -----------3.2-------3.2-------3.2 --------3.2
    Gaming Graphics-----3.4-------3.4------3.3---------3.4
    Hard Disk-----------5.5-------5.5 ------4.8---------5.5

The conclusion is pretty clear, if you want the full performance from your cpu reinstall the OS :) .

(All latest drivers in place, Home Premium SP1 and system stable under load testing with clean event logs)

Correction: The conclusion is pretty clear, if you want the full performance from your new cpu, reinstall the OS.

The last thing we need is people posting "I REINSTALLD MY VISTA BUT MY CPU SCOR IS STILL THE SAME PLZ HELP."
