Hi all, I'm quite new to the forum.. I've followed with interest this thread: http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=272056 and got myself a t5500 intel processor from ebay, I'm going to put it in during the weekend.

I'd like to know if anyone has tried / succeeded in adding a webcam to this notebook. Mine came with no camera, but in other countries it got packed with a webcam, so my suspect is that it has everything needed, it also lists a 5th usb port (there are only 4 connections).

Can anyone tell me which webcam the 5310, 5315 comes packed with? I could try and get one from ebay.

It shouldn't be too hard to disassembly the lcd plate and get the webcam and cables fitted in, it shouldn't be that hard to make a hole through the plastic.

    What do you think?

    regards,

    riccardo

I have the Aspire 4315. It is the 14" equivalent of the 5315. Some of the 4315 have a webcam (like mine) but others don't. The only difference between the two is the display cable, and the hole in the bezel.

Whether you have or not a webcam in your laptop the area in the lid where you can fix the webcam is there. So all you need is a webcam, a display cable with webcam connection, and a hole in the LCD bezel.
