Okay, so we switch from Comcast to Verizon Fios and now our laptops don't want to stay connected. It takes like 2 hours for it to finally stay connected so we called Verizon and they said we have to change from the eNet management to windows.
Does anyone know how to change it? Please & thank you.

Uninstall the Enet Managment from your system. If you want it back later, you can get it again from acer.
Go to the control panel and uninstall it from there. See if this resolves your issues.
Enet Managment does nothing that windows can't do. -
See I would try that but I'm scared I wouldn't know how to get it back if I do need it. lol.
I don't know the difference in it either but that's what they said. I say screw it and go back to comcast but heh.
But thanks. -
Another thing you can do is to stop it starting up when you turn the laptop on.
Press start then type msconfig.
Then click on the startup tab, under there you should find an entry for eNet Managment, if you disablew this it will stop it starting but it won't delete it. This way you can use the windows utility to connect. -
Thanks. I opened that but i didn't find the acer eNet Management on the list.

I am a big fan of leaving Acer comps. the way you get them.
However, what you really have no use for are the following:
1. Norton AV time limited trial. Uninstall the the whole thing and rather install a free AV. Avira, Avast etc. come to mind. Both excellent.
2.The whole Empowering Technology thing has very little use. Except for the following:
Acer E Power Management.
CPU speeds (mains and battery) can be set there. Along with screen brightness, what is turned on...or off (like Blue Tooth,LAN etc.) when on a certain power scheme. I still find it genuinely useful.
The rest is a waste of time.
I have to say this: Leave your hidden partition intact (PQ Service).
Dont just reformat everything because you want a "clean, bloat free system"
It will bring you lots of frustration later when ALT+F10 refuses to work anymore. And you have not burnt disks either.
Acers "bloatware" is far less than other big vendors stuff out there. And it's removal is totally controlable once you undestand the magic ALT+F10 and what happens after that.
A total reformat of my system last night took less than an hour.
Total bliss.

I'm sorry but none of that made much sense to me. I don't even use the Norton thing. And I want to leave everything the way it is but Verizon has this idea that the fios isn't workin on our laptops cause of the enet management which I think they're just making up but whatever. I just want to turn it off? instead of totally deleting it. But I don't know. lol. Thanks for the input.

I'm downloading eNet right now, will try to figure it out if it's possible just to turn it off. I'll report back when I have something. Give me 15-20min.

Ok, eNet is set up to start with Windows right? So just go to eNet->Configure and untick "Start eNet with Windows". Restart the laptop and eNet should NOT start with Windows and therefore won't be in control.
-
Do I get to the eNet->Configure thing the way the other person stated earlier?
I found eNet in the services tab but not in the startup tab. -
You should have a green bar somewhere on your desktop with all eServices. Just click on eNet, the icon is a globe and should be inside that green bar.

well I figured out how to turn it off but apparently it wasn't the problem cause it still doesn't work right with windows.

I cannot figure out how to start a new thread. I don't see anything for posting messages, other than to reply...so, I'll just add on to this thread.
Like others, I can't seem to get my eNet manager to make a connection. I see where some say to uninstall it and use the Vista built in wireless thingy. (Sorry, but I am incredibly UN-tech-savvy). So, my question is.... where would one find this built in wireless thingy?
