I ran my factory recovery disk on my new HDD, but it doesn't boot up.
I check me memories RAM,they are ok.
After the ACER logo appears with a message "Prepare boot to OS" , the screem is black with a blinking dash in the left upper corner.
May some one helpe me with this problem? Thank you

    1) Check Harddisk in correct mode Vista: AHCI
    2) Check if the disc is not badly scratch
    3) Create a default NTFS Partition hopefully it will detect the partition and install itself inside.
    4) Really can't do it? Grab a Windows Vista ISO from torrent and do a clean install will pass activation method later.

    Hi sev

have you been able to use your factory recovery disk? If so can I ask a mega favour? Can you upload an image of the disk on to a file sharing site like rapidshare or something so I can get a copy?

I am trying to repair a friends 5315 and he wants the original setup after I replace his broken HDD.

    Thanks
