The Notebook Review forums were hosted by TechTarget, who shut down them down on January 31, 2022. This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    I have 5517-5997 model and doesn't have a cam. Could you owner of the above model with cam check in device manager to see if it says USB device?
    Also, I've noticed that model with webcam integrated uses the same cable as the LCD. Other makes and model has it's own cable and ports. Is it possible to buy the LCD(video) cable and the cam to install on the non cam model?

    More info needed if anyone knows:

    Maker of crystal eye webcam?
    Webcam diagram, port pin in pin out? "will modify to work with 5517-5997"
    All integrated cam USB?
