I picked up this notebook for my daughter last night at Circuit City for $533. All in all I am pleased with it so far. I do have one quick question for you Gurus out there. Does this notebook use a 64 bit version of Vista Home Premium? I figured that it must by virtue of the AMD 64X2 CPU, but can't locate anything to indicate that it is using Vista 64. If it is using a 32 bit version of Vista, are upgrades to Vista 64 available? Any help will be appreciated.

I don't know a whole lot about 64-bit Vista but I would very very surprised if this notebook came with it. If it doesn't say 64-bit, it is 32-bit. As far as upgrading from 32-bit to 64-bit Vista, this Microsoft site talks about this and says it's a no go.

It's the 32-bit version, and no, you can't "upgrade" the machine form 32-bit to 64-bit vista. You can, however, buy an OEM copy of Vista 64-bit from NewEgg for $139.

If you're not running more than 2gb of RAM, there's no point in using a 64-bit version of Vista.
