Majority overheating (Not even a year old) last few days it's been running with the core at 75 degrees and above (as high as 97!)
Haven't had a chance to take it apart yet to check if it's dusted up due to the stupid build requiring the entire laptop to be dismantled in order to reach the fan/heat sink assembly.
HOWEVER, are there any suitable/common fan/heat sink upgrades which would be suitable for this model?

Well, a machine with apparently the same casing is referred to here

I'm not sure that this is a good idea, but my 5536 does indeed run very hot when carrying out large amounts of processing. -
The best thing I can suggest is looking for a parts store that has a fan assembly for your notebook. These little guys do not use standard parts like desktop computers do, which means that there is really no obvious way to buy something new or upgrade.
As far as heatsink upgrades go, there is nothing you can do there as the heatsink is 100% custom for that laptop series. You might be able to put better thermal compound on it (AS5 for instance) but that's it. -
billaboard: THe heat is so bad that I can't even run the CPUs at high power, they down giving me blue screen. Currently running at 67 degrees just running firefox and a download client (averaging 15% CPU usage)

Alex, Just for comparison, here I'm running Firefox and a whole bunch of diagnostic programs, as I'm still trying to nail a problem with audio when I try to use a usb audio interface with asio drivers. The power management is set to high performance with everything set to always on and pu usage is erratic playing audio but averages about 15%. CPU temperatures are between 63 and 65 degrees.
If I fire up the webcam, processor usage shoots up to average about 22% and the cpu temp goes up Today the max has been 78 degrees.
If I lift the mahine into the air and support it on one hand, the temp seems to drop by about 2 to 3 degrees.
The machine does feel very hot, and the fan blows out a much smaller volume of hot air than the fan on the Lenovo I'm typing on. The Lenovo fan runs much less often and the machine's casing feels cool compared with the 5536.
I haven't had any blue screens so far.
Aspire 5536 fan upgrade?
