Hey guys! I just want to ask if there are any fix for my aspire 5610 problem.
So here's my problem, when I charge my laptop, the Battery LED blinks an orange/amber light (with a 2-3 second interval). It shouldn't blink while charging right? and I also tried removing the battery and use only the AC Adapter but the laptop still won't power-on (it's possible to use only the AC Adapter right?). I'm still having second thoughts if I will buy a battery or an AC Adapter replacement because there might be a fix for this problem.
Please help me with my problem.
Thanks!

problem could also be the MB's power/charging circuts??
or a very common failure is the AC POWER jack becomming damaged especially those DC jacks connected directly to mother boards...
it's such a common problem there are ac jacks forsale all over EBAY,, but as long as the hole where the power plugs in is not broken or damaged,, you may get luck and solve your problem my soldering the AC ADAPTER PLUG to the motherboard... if sometime that ac plug has been pulled or stressed in anyway.... the solder joints on the mainboard may have been stressed just enough to cause an intermittent short and that is the most likely place
wait on the battery,,, get the laptop running after the power supply comes in, then worry about a battery if you even need one of those... you may not? -
i see. maybe have someone solder the AC plug since i'm not very good at soldering. so the blinking BATTERY AMBER LED indicates that my battery is not charging, right?
EDIT: I also found out that after the laptop has been plugged for quite sometime, the LED stops blinking & goes into "steady" AMBER light mode for 10 minutes, as if it was charging. I don't want to touch the laptop when it goes into that state 'cause the LED might blink again. then, returns to its blinking state. -
loose solder joint most likely... fix soon... when it looses power and then get hit w/ power, and looese it again,,,, that could cause other parts to fail due to those kinds of spikes
those 3 solder joints are the largest on the notebook and were made that way so they could be replaced easy by semi-trained humansif you take the MB out of the PC and take it to someone more than $10 IMO...
it won't take 2 minutes for someone who can solder. TV repair shops would likely do it as soon as you hit the door, since its an easy fix they tend to have soldering iron heated and ready to melt metal
