    Hello all!

I'm considering a HD replacement for my 5610Z and am considering the HITACHI Travelstar 7K320 HTS723232L9A360. I'm currently running the 0riginal HITACHI Travelstar 5K160 HTS541612J9SA00. Any opinions, suggestions, and/or warnings?

    Thanks in advance.

Yeah. Should work. I don't see no problems. I have a similar spec'ed Acer, and the 7K320 worked fine in my laptop.

    Hello all,

I've completed the HDD upgrade, I decided to go with the Western Digital Scorpio Black WD3200BEKT 320GB 7200 rpm drive instead of the Hitachi unit.

The only glitch was a noise emitted by the hard drive which I discovered was repeated parking of the heads. A search lead me to Notebook Hardware Control. This allowed me to adjust the hard drive performance and silence the clicking.

All in all, I'm very happy with the upgrade. Has anyone performed any other upgrade to the Aspire 5610Z?

    Thanks,

    JPinPA

What is your notebook's configuration ?

I had a WD3200BEKT, but it made no noise. I remember that a patch was released by WDC themselves on their discussion board, which had something to do with the clicking noise.
