    Hi.

I`m trying to upgrade my 5613 wifi.

Ordered a new Atheos mini pci card.
After installing the new card the computer says "no wireless device"..

I cant turn on the wifi card from the button on the front.
Tried to update both drivers and bios without any luck.

Changed back to the old card, and this has also the same problem now!
Tried to delete device in device manager and do a new installation...
    Still the same.....

So now I cant get my wifi to work!
Anyone knows if its possible to upgrade the wifi on a 5613 to N ??

    Cheers

    Welcome to the forums

You probably haven't seated the card properly. When the card is on an angle, give it an extra push (not too hard) to make sure it is in properly and then fold it down to the clips.

Hi, and thanks for your reply.

The problem is that I can see it in device manager.
But when I try to activate it with the button on the front of the laptop it says "no wireless device".

This happends with both the old and the new card now.
Also there is 2 screws that holds the card, so I dont think I can put it longer into the slot.

    Hi again.

I tried to update both drivers and bios from the Acer ftp server with no luck.

    The funny thing is....
I can see the device in device manager.
But the computer does not see the device when I try to turn it on.

And right now I have installed the original card that worked ok before I tried the upgrade, but I still cant get it to work...

Could anyone do me a favor?
Open device manager and look at properties of their wifi card under the ADVANCED flip. And see if there is supposed to be an network adress for the device there???

I really cant see why the old card dont work anymore???
