    Hi,

When I upgraded to Windows Vista Home Premium, my PCMCIA port and my 6-in-1 card reader stopped working. I never use my card reader, but I recently bought a Creative Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Audio Notebook, so it would be great if someone could help me fix my PCMCIA port. Inserting a PCMCIA card has no effect - the LED doesn't even light up.

Upon contacting Acer, I was told to send in my notebook for repairs (which is out of the question, as I need it for uni). I am, however, convinced that this is a driver-related problem. I've installed the latest driver (for Vista) found on Acer's website (Card Reader TI Driver 2.0.0.6q.zip), but this doesn't seem to work. I can't find any other drivers for the "Texas Instruments PCI-8x12/7x12/6x12 CardBus Controller". Even if I could, I'm not sure if I could install them - Windows Vista seems to automatically reinstall the default driver, no matter what I do (even if I uninstall it first).

    Any suggestions?
    Thanks in advance! :)
