I've had my laptop for just over a year (10 days to be exact since i checked my receipt).

I haven't used my battery for around 11 months. I just left it at around a 60% charge and took if out of the computer, and have never touched it since.

Now, i think the battery is completely dead. It will not charge (only 0.3% each time i stick it back in).

BatteryEater Pro says its at 0.002V and is designed for 0.0V. After gaining a charge of 0.3%, the battery light will keep on flashing orange. (error message?)

Does this mean my battery is totally dead? if so that really sucks, because I probably didn't even use it for 20 cycles! AND my bro's 2 year old IBM battery is still fine!

If i woulda found out just 11 days earlier, the battery would still be under warranty!!

I was thinking about doing that...glad I just leave it in. Although I'd be lucky to get 2 hours of surfing after about 6 months of ownership. I'm guessing an hour by a years end. Newegg totally lied about running this thing for 3 hours. Totally lied about getting a t2300 too...I got a t2300e. FTW

Try cleaning the connectors on the battery and on the laptop (with the ac unplugged) and reconnecting - I would not use a liquid, just like a cotton / ear swab or an eraser off a pencil (red no white)

    @ ruisu,
when the batter was new i used bePro on it and got a max of 169mins of run time(not consistent). but yea, this thing is a far cry from all the Core Duo buzz back in the day.

    @ jpagel,
i tried blowing on the connectors, didn't look like anything was there. they are too close together for any kind of q-tip or anything to fit between the fins to clean it.

yup. looked at the connectors too, nothing out of the ordinary.

i found the service manual, but it doesnt say anything about the battery light flashing. :(

might take the cover off to check it out.

unfortunately, it isn't one of the recalls.
however, if i input the same serial number but change the week from 50 to 51 it goes through..hopefully.

Your battery has probably died. I always ask myself why people buy laptops/notebooks and then think they are being smart by removing the battery for storage purposes to supposedly prelong battery life. Just use the laptop/notebook and enjoy it with the battery. Afterall, the battery is only about 1/10 of the total cost of the computer. It just does not make sense.
