    Hi,

I was getting a lot of BSODs so I finally (after 2 years) decided to get a clean install of XP pro (not the Media edition previously on the machine).
I also cleared out the hidden Acer partition and didn't reinstall the Acer empowering software.

Having dealt with a few issues with the recent nvidia drivers not recognizing the DVI port/external monitor and reinstalling the older 2006 drivers plus all the other usual reinstall headaches (won't do that again in a hurry :D ) I have been noticing a marked increase in CPU temps -especially if I do any video editing or sometimes just watching a video.

Just checked out the undervolting guide and have tried that. Cleaned out the vents on the fan too.
Am idling at 63 degrees C and it goes up into the 70s when I do anything else.
And when I try anything major it overheats and shuts down.

I had a few shutdowns, so I figure something is wrong.

    Any suggestions gladly received.

    Thanks.

    Aspire 5680 series, core2duo 2ghz, nvidia go 7600, 2 gig RAM.

    What windows are u using???
if u r using windows xp wif no empowering technology installed...
u are forcing ur laptop to run not in its prime...
u nid to use RMclock to control ur processor voltage and speed...

About ur graphic card... try install the latest forceware for it...
    and observe it using GPU-Z...

SOmetime i do think processor voltage intake or graphic card voltage intake do affect performance and heat-up...
