Aspire 5683wlmi

I wanted to buy aspire 5672wlmi. I was checking web shop pages and notice that now they have a new model. It has the new core duo 2 processor. And all other good stufff It has also tv tuner & dvb-t for tv. This is the model I ordered:

What do you think about it? I can't wait to get it. I hope it won't heat as much as people say 5672 does.

Wow, very cool, I think you're one of the first to order this. I see you live in Germany, the Aspire 5683 is not available yet here in the U.S. When you get it, definitely let us know what you think of it!

 

Actually I live in Slovenia. I ordered it from Germany ( www.hoh.de). They said it will be avaible in week or two. It cost 1259,90 € with tax. I paid it, now I just must wait to get it. Maybe I make a review for this page, when I get it.

They must added 5683 the day I wanted to buy 5672, because I didn't notice it on that page before. I am kinda happy about this

 

man this thing is great too bad its not in US.

 

That´s a great notebook....... My brother-in-law, bought the 5672 and it´s a great notebook.... it does not get that hot in my opinion.....

After playing a while with his notebook i would totally buy this new upgrade..... I just don´t know if it will be available in the US or Portugal where i can buy it.....

 

I'm looking to return my 5672 for this guy. Please let us know about build quality and heating. These are the main issues I've had with the 5672. If you have some time on your hands, a review would also be greatly appreciated

Ok, my notebook has left Germany and it's on it's way to Slovenia (GLS delivery) Can't wait.

Notebook has Windows XP Home with German language. But I don't like XP Home and don't like German language. So can I just format drive when I get it and install xp proffesional english? Is there any diffrence in installation that on a desktop pc?? This is my first notebook, so I don't know. Is there any stuff that I should backup? What's up with drivers??

I will post pictures of it when I get it. And then later maybe I do a rewiev..

 

What I can say.. only Wow! Heat problem probably wont be resolved unless Acer changes its thermal pad design though (plus the core 2 duo gives just a tad bit more heat than core duo) But excellent perfomance wise!

 

Hurey!! Finialy got it. I don't know what to try first. But I know what I must do soon. Get his stupid german windows home off and install english xp.. Is recovery disk all I need to do before??

I also want to buy an Aspire 5683 but before I wanne know something about it.

- Would you be so kind and makes a 3dmark test with the notebook because I want to know how strong is the built-in graphics card (Go 7600 SE).

- And what can you say about the fan (always on? / silent in office mode / ...).

I'm a little angry at hoh.de! I got a 5683wlmi without tv tuner!! I bought this model ( http://web.hoh.de/hoh/(S(cbuoos45wq13y045mhq5ofzh))/default.aspx?TY=item&ST=1&IT=13104&CT=180) and it says it has tv tuner.

And they didn't install aditional ram, but I paid it.

What to do?

Do you have makes some 3dmark test with the notebook because I want to know how strong is the built-in graphics card (Go 7600SE). I have read, that the graphic card with the "SE" at the end, are a throtteld card. In an another forum someone makes a test with 3dmark06 and gets 2150 points.

When you want the additional ram, then you must deliver the nb back to the shop. But from Slovenia it cost a lot of time.

they replaced the information by now. before it was said it has tv tuner! i have a screenshot to prove it.

can you give me the link to 3dmark and i can test it if you want.

about the ram. i was talking to them and they said i must buy 2x512. they made a mistake and just replaced the ram in comptuer with new which i bought. now i have 2x512 in comupter and 2x512 in my hands it should be 2x1024 in computer, because it has 2 slots.

about english, it's good. i can understand everything. i like german people who can write and speak english.

 

what's the report on the heat?

i have to image as much trouble as the heat cost acer on the 5672, i would imagine they have done something to fix it by now.
