    Hi
    Im a noob so I will try to explain my problems as best I can

    Problem 1:
    My middle button/scroller on my touchpad has suddenly stopped working.No idea why but could anyone help??
    Problem 2:
    Im running windows vista home premium but it keeps saying i need to go online and make sure its genuine.I have done 5 times now but I still get the same error even though it says my vista is genuine.Help please?
    Last problem :
    Control panel wont open.It starts to load then closes almost instantly.

    HELP ME
    I only got this laptop at xmas and it is brand new so would love to sort it out.

    Tried the fn-F7 thing and it didnt bring back the scroller.I know acer aint that good but I dont think the button would have broke already so im still a bit lost.

    Any ideas about the control panel??

    For the scroller, does the rest of the touchpad work? Cause what you could do is go into Synaptics Touchpad options and see if the buttons are enabled and that the Scroll Up/Down/Left/Right is correctly mapped. (Access this via the system tray since you cannot access Control Panel)

    For the Control Panel, when did this problem start happening? When you installed a certain driver or program? If that is the case remove the program/driver that was installed, if that doesn't work perform a System Restore back to the date before you installed the driver/program.

    Got my scroller working again by system restore but noticed my windows updater and control panel dont work.And still get that stupid valid vista message.Been searching microsoft site all day.Downloaded something that should fix it but when I try to install it says I dont need the update.
    VISTA SUCKS

    Try restoring further back, and call Microsoft Product Activation.

    you can get it exchanged at the store for a new unit. thats what I would do
