Hi
Pls where and how can I get drivers for Acer Aspire 5710 model for Win XP that comes with Vista preinstalled.
I want to install Win XP, but not sure of what drivers are needed.
Thanks

Acer used to have the drivers for that model hidden in the FTP site located here: ftp://ftp.work.acer-euro.com/notebook/aspire_xp_not_authorized/ but it has since been removed.
I looked at the driver page located here: http://support.acer-euro.com/drivers/notebook/as_5710.html and look under the Drivers and Utilities section for Windows Vista, take note of everything listed there.
I'm pretty sure you can find Windows XP drivers of most (but not all) of the things listed there on the manufacturer's website (Intel, Realtek, ATi, etc). The LAN/Wireless components might be another issue though. -
Acer gives also XP drivers on their site. Although I had issues with my wireless card, but Windows Update fixed them.

I have an Acer Aspire 5710 too and was also considering downgrading to XP.
Wanted to ask you how you got on. Did you do an install of XP, did everything work on the laptop afterwards and if you needed any drivers where did you get them from.
I managed to find this pdf which may be of use to others. All the XP drivers seem to have been taken down from direct links on the Acer website but a bit of Googling and lateral thinking got me this. The links seem live, or at least all those I've tried so far.
