This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved.     Aspire 5720 - Windows 7

    I have an Aspire 5720 laptop which came with Vista Home Premium preinstalled. Unfortunately, this is too old to qualify for a free upgrade to Windows 7.
    My question is, would it be possible to install a full retail copy of Windows 7 Home Premium onto the laptop? I am new to computers (and to this forum) and am unclear as to the correct procedure and what problems may lie ahead e.g. should I wipe both C and D drives? Will I lose my existing Acer applications? (eTechnology functions for example)

    Any constructive advice would be greatly appreciated with apologies in advance if this issue has already been addressed elsewhere.
