    Hi all

Sorry for this basic question but I've searched this (and other) forums high and low and can't find an answer so here goes:

I've an Aspire 5720-602G16Mi which has no installed bluetooth module, but has the button fitted in the keyboard (comes up with "NO BLUETOOTH DEVICE"). I've seen all the threads on this and obtained the correct module (and driver if required) and know where on the motherboard to fit it - near the front of the laptop - probably socket BT1, so here's the problem!!

I can't get the bottom off the case to access the right spot! :-(

I've taken out the battery, removed the 2 access plates - (I know how to remove the keyboard and the hard drive if neccessary) -BUT even when I've then taken out ALL of the visible screws I can't get the bottom of the case off.

    AM I MISSING SOMETHING?

I realise there are "clips" all round the base but I also know that it's a fragile plastic so I don't want to force anything.

A step by step guide or a link to an existing one would be useful ( there may be one here but I can't find it)

    Thanks in advance

    Jim

I had another go last night and got as far as lifting the front of the top of the case but couldn't get to the BT1 socket. :(

(screws removed: 3 below battery, 5 holding the 2 covers on the base, 9 base screws, screw in the HD cover area, the screw in the centre area,
Turned over - 2 screws below the keyboard, the screws at the screen hinges.)

I'm sure that there's something I'm missing but not sure what!!

    Waiting for someone who knows.

    Thanks in advance

    Jim

Have you removed the lid between the display and the keyboard? Under it there are couple of screws too. Sometimes you need a little force, but not too much :)

If you still have troubles, google *cough* AS5720_5720G*cough*

    :D
    Thanks Triturbo

I downloaded the aspire Nettling Services Service Guide (pdf) for my 5720 and all was clear as day. ;)

All working ( loaded drivers etc) and connected including the Blue-tooth switch and the "little blue led"

    Cheers
