ive downgraded the thing and got everything to work except for the wlan card
i installed some driver (im not on the notebook atm and i cant remember which one of the thousands of drivers finally worked) which the card liked
however no wlan connections are showing up in the default windows wlan connect tool (there is no 2nd tool installed which blocks it, and there are 2 wlans in reach which he should recognize)
anyone has any links or hints?

I have one of those, and I installed XP on it. I got all drivers from acer's website, there were some drivers that were not there for XP, and I used the drivers for 5720 ( no Z ) from acer's website as well. All is good except for shutting down, sometimes it will freeze. I think its the wlan driver. It shuts off if you hold the power down, and it doesnt seem to be hurting the laptop. Ive been using it for months now, and it does not force a chkdsk on boot.
If anyone does know why it freezes, or have a better driver for the wlan let us know. -
THIS ONE has worked for me.
It's the second download on this page:
- Version: 6.0.3.85
- Date: 07.06.2007
- OS: Windows XP 32bit
- Signed: NONE

Check THIS out. It's the solution for nearly all the issues!! Except for the GeForce video card - I guess...
