I'm a newbie with computers, so, please forgive me if this is a simple question:

I am wondering if it is possible to install a bluetooth card or receiver within the casing rather than using a dongle?

I have the IOgear adapter which works well for my HP470 mobile printer. I would like to keep my USB ports open so I don't have to worry about causing damage to the ports or adapter as I take it in and out of the case.

Is it possible to simply install the BT module in this computer? If so, any suggestions on which and where I can get one?

Again, thanks for your help and I appreciate it.

Well, if there is evidence that there are versions of your computer that come with internal bluetooth, then yes. There are stores on INTERNET that sell spare parts. I had a same problem as you did and I bought internal bluetooth module for my Acer Aspire 7720G. The module, cable and shipping were about 80€ if I remember correctly. I got it from http://www.zandparts.com/acer/.
People say that there are cheaper shops that that on the Internet, so good luck finding one. Just search for acer spare parts. Hopefully there will be one close to you.

Also, service manual for your laptop would be helpful, but unfortunately computer manufacturers believe that they should be kept secret so it is against rules of this forum to ask here for one. Even if you do not find the manual, maybe you will find a guide made by someone in same situation as yourself. Again, Google could help.

Once you do get the module, cable needed to connect it to internal USB and instructions (last one is as I said optional but recommended), you will need a lot of patience and a small Phillips and a small flat screwdriver to take your laptop apart.

It's definitely cheaper to just buy a dongle, but if you are like me and can't stand that button that does nothing, I wish you good luck.

    AndrejaKo,
Thanks for your very thourough reply, I appreciate it. I agree with your last sentence, I'm the same way.

I looked the other day and I think this computer is still too new as I cant find it's model number anywhere. It's not critical that I do anything right away as I've been using a dongle and it performs fine. It's just my nature to improve things that are working fine as is ;)

Thanks again for your reply, much appreciated.

    Good Day,
    Steve
