For all users who own Acer Aspire 5745G with latest BIOS (1.19), i will explain how to manually control a cpu fan and how to lower a CPU and overall temp's. :)

    1. Download RW EVERYTHING 1.5.2 (i am using a zip version).( RW - Read & Write)

    2. Unrar RW EVERYTHING.

    3. Open a folder and start RW.exe. Click on the EC icon and EC window will be shown .

    4. Change value of 50x05 to 91 and value of 50x0E to 13
    (see on the pic !!!)

    pic 1.jpg

Wait a short time, listen to louder noise coming from cpu fan and look at the cpu temp monitor. :) :) :)

    5. Close RW windows.

    Enjoy.

(P.S. You have to repeat steps 3, 4 and 5 each time you log onto Windows).

    UPDATE :

Here are temp's (CPU is idle) :

    pic 1.jpg

Here are temp's (there is video conversion in progress) :

    pic 2.jpg

And, here are temp's under heavy load on all four cores :

    pic 3.jpg

    Nice, isn't ? :)

    UPDATE (13/08/2012) :

Here we can see temp's after drilling a couple of square holes on the underside of the chassis and placing the laptop on a stand with a fan (temperatures were measured 3 minutes after using BS Player).

    This becomes amazing. :)

    UPDATE (21/08/2012) :

And here we can see how important is the airflow (which is related to extra holes drilled on the underside of the chassis):

Well, what is your experience with the temperatures on your Acer notebook, especially on 574(X) series ?

I got the impression that Acer could have done more on the appropriate airflow (holes on on the underside of the chassis that are correctly distibuted). Especially with notebooks that have more powerful processors.

Thanks, really great thing. Only with software, my processor temperature (Acer aspire 5745g -proc. i7 720 QM) declined by 10-15 degrees, what is a noticeable change.

Hi I recently installed and used the program mentioned in the first post. My temp on my acer aspire 5745g laptop temp was around the 65-68 degrees but I do have it plugged in and charging. The program did not change the temp of my laptop at all and I followed the instructions to the letter. What else can I do?
