I own an Acer Aspire 5920 which has Windows Premium installed. I received a copy of Windows Ultimate at my uni. I want to put Ultimateon my laptop now. I noticed I don't have a driver and software cd included, only one cd with Premium. I assume if I install that disc it will install the extra's as well. I can find the drivers back on the Acer website, but not the software like the one to take pictures with the webcam or the dvd software.
How can I do this the best way?

Is there an upgrade path? I wouldn't think you would have to reinstall everything from scratch.
Can't you use the cd like an anytime upgrade cd? -
But I was thinking of doing a clean install at the same time. So just install Ultimate and get the goodies that I got with my Acer. But if I can't find all the extra's, I'll just upgrade.

From what I've heard, your version of Vista, already has the features of Ultimate, they are just locked from you. When you upgrade, these additional features are unlocked. It makes economic sense, as that means less stuff to download from Microsoft, saving them bandwidth.
I've heard of problems arising when upgrading from Windows XP, but since that is another platform, files need placing and its a much more complex procedure. Upgrade should work fine.
I want to do the same thing when I get to uni this Autumn. Apparently, all the programs available at the school, can be downloaded via the intranet onto your own personal laptop or computer.
