Hi. I recently bought aspire 5920. Nice laptop by the way :). The only problem
I have got is with Hibernation in Windows Vista. In about 70% times laptop doesn't turn off when hibernating - screen goes black, hard disk stops, but fun is still working and two yellow lights are blinking (power button and one in the front). Only thing to do is push power button for several seconds to turn it off, but then when turning back on it almost always reports error about improper turning off and recovers.. Any solutions to this? What might be the cause?

Try to recover your system .
I never use hibernating feature.I use sleep mode(It's speedier than Hibernating).
    and shut down only!!! :D

The issue was from the beginning - with fresh install.. Shutdown is too slow.. sleep is not an option when carrying around. Hibernation is the best option.

I know of one problem. If you close the laptop screen (screen turns off but hard drive is still running) then open it again before the system has entered full hibernation (e.g. machine goes silent and fan turns off) then the system appears as if it is running and the screen will not turn on again.

This seems to be an awful bug. I make sure if I close the notebook screen I do not open it again, until I am 100% sure the system has entered hibernation.
