Hi all,
This thread is concerning Acer Crystal Eye Webcam in Aspire 5920. I had recently bought the same model and after installing visual studio, got a PAGE FAULT error. So I formatted the C: drive and loaded my own version of Windows. After that, even after installing all the drivers and applications supplied in the drivers CD, my webcam wouldnt work. When I clicked the Crystal Eye icon on desktop, it would display "Camera not found!" error. This is how I fixed it.
The system detects the camera as a USB device. The problem was the the USB Root Hubs were all listed with yellow exclamation marks in the Device Manager. To solve the problem, right click the ones that are not working and Uninstall them. Then Reboot the system. Windows will automatically detect the hardware upon start up and the problem is fixed.
Im posting this so as to guide anyone with the same problems I faced. The solution is quite simple actually.
Hope you all find this helpful.
Thanx.

I have the 4520-5846 model, and recently had to reinstall windows vista because of an internet server/provider compatibility issue. This solved the internet problem and all works great, but...the webcam works fine when I use msn or oovoo, but I can no longer find the icon/shortcut? The device manager says the crystal eye is working but I cant send it to the desktop or just open it as there is no way to access. Thanks JoeB
