Hi, I've been following this forum for a while and after much research I bought the Acer Aspire 5920G last 2 weeks. I like the notebook very much and its such a powerhouse for the money.

I have it upgrade to 2GB RAM, and the problem I'm facing is it kept on saying I'm running low on memories? I dont play PCgames just surfing the net. I've AWG anti virus and MSN behind. My old notebook with only 1GB ram doesnt have this problem. ANy of you facing the same issue?

    Please help...thank you...

BTW this forum is a godsent...saved me tons of hours researching for my notebook.

5920G Normally comes with 2Gb pre installed so why you upgrade your ram?????
(Hope you upgrade 667Mhz to 800Mhz)

    # Try to run your system without AWG AV & see what happen.I believe it's AV problem coz i never face any software issue with 5920 :D

Its a free upgrade, so considered comes in 2G RAM. But my previous notebook running on XP doesnt have this issue even on 1 G RAM.

All 5920s come with 2GB(1GB x2 Dual Channel) pre installed so I think salesman fool you saying they give free 2Gb upgrade:eek: OK don't worry past is past;)
XP can run well with 512mb ram without problems .Vista loves ram... :D
I don't think you have problem with ram.I think problem with your AV application or maybe with your some background operation

First Disable your AV and try to run normal tasks . If problem solved that mean AV application need to reinstall or remove ,otherwise you need to chk ram love applications run on your background. Use Task Manager for that :)

It is better to describe how it happen like what program did you open?
normally low on memory is mention about the virtual memory or paging file. Do check if the page file is set at least 2048MB

They're selling the 5920G-301G16 here in Malaysia and it comes with 1Gb of RAM. (Price has dropped a bit since they introduced it in June though)

Note: It's a ABG wireless not ABN for here.

yes kommeil its vista 32x can only handle about 3.5gb of ram ....if you stuck 8gb it would still only show 3 gb

it would show up if you used vista 64x as the max with that is somewhere round 128gb of ram

    Latest BIOS is 3708...

You'll need Vista 64bit version to have more than 3GB ram

komeil, hey, you just have to help us out, please make some benchmarking with your 3-4GB system to see if it affects ingame performance! Any proper benchmarks will do, but I would recommend the same 3DMark06 with default settings and FEAR (singleplayer) built in benchmark with everything on maximum http://www.extremetech.com/article2/0,1697,1883895,00.asp
Depending on your help a lot of guys will probably decide to upgrade or not memory in their 5920 :) thx
