Aspire 5920G-Drivers for the 8600M GT?

I connect my laptop to my HDTVs via HDMI, and there is no option in the nVIDIA control panel to adjust screen size and position under the "Video and Television" category. I can't install the latest driver from nVIDIA(which updates this option) because it doesn't install for laptops, you must get it from the laptop company itself. I go to Acer's driver section, and the driver they have for the GFX card is the same one I have right now.

So how will I update it? Forceware? That might mess it up, so I do'nt know what else to do. Is there another way to get this option to come up, or to update the control panel?

Like I said before, I was worried that using Forceware might add more problems(even that website says it might). Have you used this, and have you had any problems with it? Does it actually make graphics look better, does improve CPU usage, or use more of it?

What is exactly OC? I'm new to gaming because this is the first computer I've got which is SO advanced.

Just look at SDX's response on the bottom of this thread, it just sort of worries me. If you ever connect your laptop to your TV, is there an option in the control panel to adjust screen size and position?

If you are new to laptops and don't know how to install bios files...I'm recommending you to handover your laptop to someone who know how to do bios update.

 

My friend tells me that OC is a bad idea for laptops, is this true? I saw your post, but it was a little confusing. How much more heat did it give, and how much can I overclock my CPU by(it's 1.5 Ghz right now). Also, are you using an Acer 5920G right now?

You have bestbuy model ....Tooo much OC will kill your laptop that for sure.. Before do anything to your laptop create recovery DVDs using acer recovery manager & use help book for more info or read acer pdf file on C:\books folder

Where did you get yours from, and how much did it cost? My BB one cost $1099, if I can, I might return it to get the other one if it's only like $100-$200 more. I'll consider this driver(probably will use it), but will this make games like Crysis run better? Can my Core 2 Duo 1.5 Ghz model run Crysis on low DX10? Also, what language do they speak in Sri Lanka? Sindhi, Urdu, or is there a separate language for the island? Are you also a huge fan of their cricket team?

 

It costs me €1399(I convert to euro)...I brought it from Sri lankan acer agent.

Wow so many drivers, I simply don't know which ones I need! There are some for Intel Media Graphics accelerator, does that improve it while playing a game? If I wanted to improve my CPU without buying a new one, for gaming basically, which drivers(not just for CPU, like 158.45) would I need?

 

I've been to India and Pakistan many times, I'm Indian myself , but I should plan on seeing how Sri Lanka is. Well 1 Euro is 1.32 USD, so it'd be even more expensive if I wanted to change. Well my parents wanted to get it very cheap, $1300 was max they would spend and this one was a bargain with the HD-DVD and GFX card.

Also, do you use AOL instant messaging? That might make it a bit easier to talk instead of like this.

It's only for Intel on-board graphic card owners..You don't need it
