    hey
I bought my aspire 5920g some 4 months ago, and vista is being a pain and crashed on me... it wont load up.
when i open it, it gives me the option to start it normally. or repair it... both wont work, and i gave it a few hours of trying before giving up. it blue-screens and says i got some problem, and windows is shutting down to prevent damage to my hardware.

aaaanyway, i dont have any backup, and i really dont feel like losing all my photos since 2004. (ya ya, im a idiot, i trashed all my back-up cd's some 2 months ago, and planed to burn new ones). so what are my options? is there any way to recover data after the windows have crashed?

btw, i have an original copy of vista which came with the laptop, but i dont have a Vista CD to make my life easier...

    thnx :)

If your harddrive is partitioned you can try dual-booting with another operating system and then pulling all the important pictures/music/documents onto some form of removable storage. Then use your recovery partition to reinstall vista.
