I have this Aspire 6530G that doesn't start up. When I press the power button it turns on blue light, HDD spins, fan spins, black screen and after about ~5 seconds it restarts and does the same thing, over and over again.

After about a week of researches over the internet and reading lots of identical situations with other people, I've came to the conclusion it has a bad BIOS flash.
I've read many tutorials/instructions on how to flash a BIOS using a flash drive. I have everything set, but the problem is that i need the BIOS file which should be in format .WPH .
From what I've understood, I am supposed to extract this file using WinRAR or 7-ZIP out of the BIOS file (called ZK3_3303W ) that I've downloaded from the Acer website. When I open ZK3_3303W.exe using WinRAR/7-ZIP, I can't see any .WPH file. What I see are 3 files called .text, .rdata, .data and a folder called .rsrc which contains other 3 folders. I checked every file and folder in there, no .WPH file.
I've also searched the internet directly for this .WPH file, without any luck. I don't know what I'm missing here...

If anyone could give me a little help I would really, really appreciate it.

    Hi doublin,

The easiest way to get the bios in .WPH format is to run the ZK3_3303W.exe on another windows based system, the bios update window will extract the .WPH to your temporary files folder (i.e. C:\Users\%UserName%\AppData\Local\Temp\WinPhlash64\BIOS1.WPH) - do not close the app just yet, navigate to that temporary folder and copy the .WPH file to a USB stick or where ever you want. Then exit the app, that should be okay.

If not if you send me your e-mail I should be able to send you a zipped version of the .WPH if that helps? Let me know how you get on.

Also, I forgot to mention if the windows version your using to get the .WPH file isn't 64bit windows then omit the 64 from the WinPhlash64 folder in your temp folder (i.e. C:\Users\%UserName%\AppData\Local\Temp\WinPhlash\BIOS1.WPH)
