My 6920 claims to have a Dolby system as well as a Tuba subwoofer...when I play CD's and DVD's I can barely hear the sound even with the volume turned up all the way.
My question to those of you who have an Aspire 6920, can you hear media that well or should I get a hearing aid or is my notebook defective?

I set my volume to 100% and it's better than any other notebook I've heard. It's loud enough for me in most cases. Sometimes the movie (if downloaded) has quiet audio but for the most part I can hear everything. Maybe go to a store and try theirs out, see if it's as loud as yours.

Make sure you have maximize your volume settings from the windows control panel or from the sound icon next to the clock.

I think I'll try some different drivers, maybe the bass it's so low because of the old Realtek drivers bass issue. Anyway, i wasn't quite impressed about the sound sistem (the display impressed me, after i saw 3 dead pixels on it
).
