    Hi,

I just got this laptop and temped to make video calls via several services. The video worked great, but the internal mic did not.

I went to Sounds in the control panel to check if the mic was working, and it was. Then I tried speech recognition to see if it was picking my voice up, and the audio bar moved indicating it was, but the speech program said it was not. So, I went to Sounds and deselected the device hoping to reset it.

Then the internal mic disappeared and I can't find it under sounds any long!!!

    So:

    1. Does anyone know how to get Sound to recognize the internal mic again.

    2. Any clue about why the mic is hearing my voice but nothing and no one else is?

    Thanks.

Ok, so right clicking on sounds allows you to reactivate removed devices, so I did that. Now I'm back to the sound recognition bar showing I'm making sounds as it moves with my voice. However, Speech Recognition says it hears nothing.

    Thoughts?
