I'm new to posting in this forum, but I've been reading it for a while and I hope someone here can help me. I have the Acer Aspire 6930 and have a few questions/problems with it. I'm fairly competent with a computer but not a computer techie(or expert), so sorry if sometimes get some of the computer jargon wrong or my questions might seem noobish. Here goes:

    1) I've been having trouble with me wireless. According to the device manager, I have an Intel Wifi Link 5100 AGN. My wireless works fine, but when I put my laptop to sleep and wake it up or turn off and on the wireless, my wireless stops working. According to the Intel manual diagnostics my wireless card is on and working fine, but when I go to the network properties and diagnose the problem with network, windows has only 2 solutions. Plug an Ethernet cable or turn on the wireless card. I've tried to turn it off and on and it doesn't work still. The only ways that my wireless would work again is when I do a restart or when I do a disable and enable at the device manager at least twice (doing it once doesn't work). Also if my wireless card is turned off when I put my laptop to sleep, when I wakes it up, windows seems to think that its on and tries to connect to my home network. Is there something wrong with my wireless card?

    2) I currently have Vista Ultimate 32bit installed. I just bought win7 pro and want to install the 64bit version. I went to the Acer Canada's website to download the drivers and found that there is only one application for win7 (just the launch manager). Will the Acer applications (like Acer Arcade Deluxe, eframework empowering technology, nti....etc) for Vista work in Win7? If it won't, how can I get the Win7 version?

    3) It says in the manual that a 2nd hard drive can be installed in certain models. Well my laptop wasn't one of those models. When I opened the 2 hard drive bay, I noticed that the connections on the motherboard was there, the only thing missing is the actual slot to plug in the hard drive (and the caddy and 2nd hard drive bay cover). Acer didn't install one. If can I get that slot and install it on the motherboard, will it work? or is my motherboard significantly different than the motherboards that has those installed? Has anyone tried it?

    4) I accidentally deleted the recovery partition on the hard drive. Now the d2d recovery doesn't work and eRecovery can't make factory default backups anymore. How can I fix it?

I hope someone can help me. Thanx in advance.
