Hi - Need help with my Aspire 6930G - From working fine, no problems it will no longer boot at all.
The machine powers on, HD light flashes for approx 15 sec's then nothing - black screen, have tried hooking it up to an external monitor to see it's related to the video output - same black screen.
Have read on here that this is a common problem - solved by flashing the correct BIOS file. I have d/l the correct BIOS zip file from the site - this contains a Windows exe file and a DOS exe file - but no others - eg The .fd file which I've read in tutorials/YouTube needs to be present and renamed in order to flash.
The other problems I can't quite get my head round are
1) How to get the machine to boot from a flash drive - When I can't access the BIOS to point it to the USB drive, instead of the drive with the OS on?
2) Don't I need a flash program to actually install the new BIOS?
Big Thanks for any helpful replies!

This doesn't seem like a BIOS issue, more like a dead GPU.
