Hey all, I downloaded the latest BIOS update from acer for no real reason, stupidly tried to flash in widows and failed. Now it's apparently bricked. The technician guide states you can possibly recover with a crisis disk on a USB floppy. I'm trying to use a 2GB USB stick first since I don't have a USB floppy, and I'm not sure if I'm creating the crisis disk properly. The PC does get power, and when I hit the power button I get a solid light and the fan runs. If I hold fn and esc before powering on I get a blinking light which I assume is the recovery mode.
I've mostly been following the directions here:

First, how do I extract the necessary files for the crisis disk from acer's exe? Here's the link:
http://global-download.acer.com/GDF...ep3=ASPIRE 6930G&OS=ALL&LC=en&BC=ACER&SC=PA_6
Tried winrar and universal extract. That's the only BIOS related download on acer's site.
Is it really necessary to use windows xp to create it the disk with WINCRIS.exe? Using the WINCRIS pack above link on this forum seems to work and does copy files to the stick but no luck restoring the BIOS. I replaced the BIOS.WIH from the download with one that I googled for that's supposed to work with the 6930g, since I don't know how to extract from acer's exe.
Here's the link to that download I used for the WIH:
AS6930-6930G_CRISISDISK
And it can be done on a thumb drive right?
Thanks in advance for any and all input.
