Hi all, first time poster here and hoping this is the only forum i'll need to visit regarding my laptop!

I have an Acer 7520 model, and have already had a dabble around with trying different custom graphics card drivers from the likes of http://www.laptopvideo2go.com/. However, one thing I cannot work out is where can I get updated chipset drivers for this thing? Come to think of it, WHAT is the chipset model inside my laptop? All i know is that it is an nForce based chipset.

When I goto the Acer website, the only ones they offer have been the same for a long, long time and I can't see them updating them. However, nvidia update their nforce drivers quite often. But I wouldn't know which ones to select, or if it was safe to do so in terms of reliability. Is there any website out there like laptopvideo2go which specialises in releasing modded drivers for laptop chipsets too?

One of the main reasons I ask is because although I run Vista x86, I've also been messing around with Windows 7 - but it is missing drivers for components such as SMBus and the Co-Processor in Device Manager.

If anyone could give me some pointers or ideas, that'd be great.

    Cheers!

    Alex

You have a nForce chipset? Please download CPU-Z, run it and check what chipset the program detects.
