Hi,, so im using the 7520G for bout 3 months, at first it worked really great no problems at all but bout a month ago it started overheating and lagging when using high cpu usage like gaming, it is really annoying! i tried using registry repair and all stuff like that but nothing is working, maybe someone on this forum knows how to fix ? also i noticed that when the fan is going fast its working great, but the fan is changing every 2minutes from fast to slow and thats when i have huge framedrops and lag.

have you tried cleaning the fan and heat transfer fins (they are directly in front of the fan exhaust port)

that would be my first step.... i clean mine every month,,

    hope it helps,

I wud suppose that the laptop has an oem license key sticker at the bottom or somewhere....
u shud backup ur data....then get hold of the OS cd from somewhere....or download it and it write it to a dvd or cd....and then install windows again using the oem key which wud give the option of reformatting in the beginning....it cud be bloatware that is casuing ur system to go unstable....!!

where on the laptop is getting hot ?
    is it over the ram
    is it the hard drive
    or over the gpu.

the easy answer to this is try on a flat surfice
turn graphics down from 32bit to 16bit.
or buy/make a cooling pad this fixed my heat issues and it was the ram

    less strain=less heat :D

    good luck,
    Phil :D

What type of GPU drivers are you using? The newer the drivers, the greater the temperature. When i was using stock drivers, i got 44c iddle, now, using 175.80 raised my iddle temp to 50c

This is still due to dirt soacken in by the fan under the book.

    1. Ensure yourself the laptops underground is hard and stiff en never put something under it like a mat or some papers which blocks the fan.

This book is only suited for use on a stiff and hard underground

    2. Open de laptop screw by screw and sort the screws in order.
    3. Buy some Alcohol Ketanus 96% and clean all of the components that expose airflow with a litte earstick..

Maybe, you don't see some dust in there, but smoking and some other dirt from the outside cooked on parts so they can't exhaust their heat properly. Just clean it out.

Clean the blades of the fan also with alcohol and the problem should be gone. I've the same notebook and here it won't run overheated. I ensure the fan under the book needs free space or turn the screws 180 degrees so the fan lift some up to suck up some more air to the flow.

The die-hard cutt-oof the CPU cooler and brings on new pasta like Artic Silver.

Otherwise it sounds like a defect, but I should be possibel to solve this within 2 hours instead of 4 weaks missing ;)

It is not the Nvidia driver with modded inf because it works here like a charm.

    Keep us informed ;)

Ehh, I've a ingiving: Is it possible to replace the rubber pits under the notebook with some higher pits so the room under the laptop is some more. Just an quick idea :)

90ºC is way too hot, normally the temp should vary between 40ºC and 70ºC. Cleaning the laptop could low the temp A LOT, just cleaned mine and it dropped from 55ºC idle temp to 42 idle temp. Undervolting is another way to reduce the heat. Check NBR Cooling Central too for even less heat.

and then i turned on the laptop and its amazing
the temp. is between 55-65 degrees now
so it dropped around 30 degrees ..
and the frame rate is higher, games doesnt stuck anymore :)
    thanks for the help

You're welcome, make sure you do the cleaning every 2-3 months.

I have a 7520G which suffers from the same issues, but I know in my case is the GPU, I am monitoring its temp and in gaming it goes past 85 Celsius, at which point my gaming cannot go on, games stutter, freeze for a few secs, then they get slow and so on. And that happens very fast too, after 10-15 minutes of playing, bam! it all goes down the drain.
I am not sure if it's dust inside or the paste, because I have no wish to open the case, laptop is just 4 months old (but I am sure it was also used while in the shop before I bought it, so it MUST be dust too), and I am afraid that opening the laptop's case will void my warranty. That is why I called Acer and will have them look inside. I am pretty much out of options here.

I used to experience the same overheatin' probs on Aspire 7520G until I have opened and cleaned it all inside up, changed the thermal interface paste or w/e it's called n stuff like that. The temperature difference was like 25-30 degrees.
Don't be scared to remove the warranty - it's worth it.

I would also take off the large cover and remove the film on the vents. I did and it had helped cool my as5315.
