I have an Aspire 7520G with Vista 32b Home and I've been considering to go for Windows 7 and have quite a few questions that bother me:

    32b or 64b:
Which one? 64b I can go over the 3,5Gb memory barrier compared to 32b.
Driver issues worry me a bit. Is there a lot of driver issues with the 64b version compared to 32b?

    Backing up data:
For the 64b I have to do a clean install right? So do I have to format my hard drives and go from there?
For the 32b I could upgrade Vista to Win 7 without needing to do a clean install?

How do I actually install the OS? Never done it on a laptop before. Do I have to worry about compatibility problems ie. my graphics chip, processor or like the actualy laptop not being compatible with Win 7 or some shenanigans like that?

What drivers (?), software or files should I burn on a DVD prior to installing Win 7? Does this Acer laptop really need all the Acer management software things to work and all the other crap it came with? Are they used for controlling the laptop operations like throttling, lan/wlan, function keys etc. stuff? Do current games and older games work with Windows 7?

Thats what all I could think off right now. TIA.
