My son has the Aspire 7551 and has recently depleted the battery down to no power. After putting it on a charger and trying to use it again he is getting nothing on the screen. He tells me there was some message on it but can't remember what it was. Is there something special that needs to be done to get the screen to display again? Computer is less than 3 weeks old so I am hoping that display isn't out already. Thanks in advance for any help.

Does it start without the battery?

No it does not. But I have since removed the battery, plugged in the power cord, and it will boot up fine. I have re-installed the battery and crossing my fingers.
