:( I'm hoping someone else has had the following issue and more importantly has a cure.

I have an Aspire 7720G and I upgraded the BIOS about a year ago. This did not go as planned and I had to use the "Vulcan death grip" load from USB stick method. This worked perfectly and everything booted up as per normal. However it then was noticed that the Num Lock button did not work and as this is a 17" laptop the extended numeric keypad did not function also. I have since trawled the net and tried a number of BIOS re flashing, all to no avail. It is as if it had a 15" laptop keyboard.

As a test I have attached an external keyboard and this functions correctly.

The BIOS has no reference to the Num Lock mode or Keyboard.

I'm hoping someone may be able to shed some light on this issue.

    Thanks in Advance
