I search on the internet for N10P-GS-A2 because I encounter this term.
(No idee what is means) :D

    Acer 5520G 5920G nVidia GT 240M 1GB DDR3 MXM II VGA Card

    I encouter it here....

So I googled on this term N10P-GS-A2
    And found this card.

Laptop NViDIA Videokaart N10P-GS-A2 Graphic Card VGA te Koop Aangeboden op Tweedehands.net

Is this gonna work for me in a Acer Aspire 7720G to replace a 8400m GS?
Is the card in the above link really 512 mb? Or probably 1 GIG?
I have my doubts on the advertisers ad  :radar: :mask:

    An other question

What does N10P-GS-A2 stands for? Can't you read from this it is 512mb or 1 GIG?

I really appreciate the quick replies over here!

Tnx ttomorad, .NetRolller 3D & triturbo and not for get the future repliers...

I'm not much into nVIDIA, so I don't know what it means.

On the other hand - the site you linked is really interesting. The pictures and the model tag are pointing to MXM-II, but all of the supported laptops listed are MXM-A AFAIK. One more thing, if we take into account the price it's much more likely to be MXM-A, as a MXM-II one would be a tad more expensive IMO.

Edit: If they have return policy, give it a shot, and if turn out to be MXM-A return it with "Not as described" :)

I'm looking for the best possible processor to put in my 7720G.
    I found out that is a T9500
But which sspec should i buy?

I found a topic from Triturbo

    http://forum.notebookreview.com/hardware-components-aftermarket-upgrades/377864-best-t9500.html

I don't get really an answer in here...

Somebody knows what SLAZA is? Or somebody can tell what for the first letter EC in the ordering code from intel stands for...

    EC80576GG0646M

They are still made SLAZA isn't it? Because they are on ark.intel.com So is SLAZA the best possible CPU revision you can get or am i totally wrong?

    Intel® Core?2 Duo Processor T9500 (6M Cache, 2.60 GHz, 800 MHz FSB))

Can you prefer a SLAZA above a SLAYX or can't you reasoning like this?

It doesn't matter really what type you get as long as it's NOT engineering sample, ES.

I did a little bit research and i think SLAYX is the best.

Because you can put less voltage on it than SLAZA or something i read somewhere.
SLAZA works on higher voltage and since i can't adjust voltage or overclock SLAYX works best for an 7720G isn't it?

My T9500 is SLAYX and, apparently, SLAYX is the mass production version, SLAZA should be final ES, but this is the first time I came across this information :err:

There were 3 production versions of T9500, SLAYX is the best one out there and I end up getting it. If you feel adventurous, you can try X9000 and with ThrottleStop you could overclock it (you have to boot with it in first place, some motherboards/BIOSes are incompatible with Intel XE). And before you ask SLAZ3 is what you're looking for :)

    Hi :)

No, i'm not going to try that... :)

Since i read somewhere that the 7720G not fully support the X9000 because of the watts to the CPU and a X9000 also consume more power than 35W of a standaard cpu. So this doesn't gonna work or earlier loss of performance i guess.... :nah:

Tried everything, even ThrottleStop, no results. No matter what I tried, clock was always on 1.2GHz, multiplier was literally stuck at x6.

If you aren't a gamer, you better buy HD3650, or HD3470, since with 8600M you'll have the same problem, as with your current GPU.

Hi! Sorry for the late reply and a belated Happy New Year to you all.....

Well I don't want to spend a lot now, maybe bit later. (Getting married so budget is tight)

I did speak to someone about it and he recommended 500 GB Samsung x1 (put another 500GB in the other slot later, he said that there is not much difference between 500GB and 250 GB) and set up the computer now with Windows 7 and upgrade it later as I wish.

Also the encasing/enclosure for the HDD is missing. Any idea where I can buy it ?

    Hello again everybody,

Now my machine has intel 320 ssd, 2gb ram ( i will upgrade this soon), geforce 8400m, and my processor Intel core 2 duo t7500 2.2ghz, 4mb l2 cache,
My question is, I cannot decide between installing windows 7 ultimate 64bit or 32bit, will my processor support 64-bit? and what is the benefit?
the only reason I would want 64-bit is when I install 4gb it will be recognised straight away, but will my machine perform faster in 32-bit?
    Ideas anyone?

Oh and how do I install the latest chipset driver and bios, do i download from intel website? and how do i know which chipset I have, sorry for all the questions lol

One final but probably stupid question, I am gonna get 4gb of ram, should i choose kingston, crucial or corsair?

    Thanks again

With ram get what you can afford. I use whatever the store has. I used to use ocz but that gave me alot of problems. Now I use Samsung for the most part or Kingston. 64 bit will make your system run better when using certain applications.

Oh, a final question, is there a concensus that the high Res will work with my Intel video on board, or am I to assume that it won't work unless I have the upgradeable card.

I now have aspire 7720g with 120gb intel 320 ssd and 4gb hyperx ram,

My question is, would installing a secondary normal 5400rpm hard drive slow the computer or booting times up, I just need another hdd for storage, or would i be better off getting a 64gb or 80gb ssd as a secondary

    Thanks :D

1600x900 At the moment, with the screen it came with.

I have the same setup, boot SSD and storage HDD.... it doesn't slow down things at all.

    1600x900 is already a dual-link-only resolution. 1920x1080 should work.

However, you need a 16:9 screen for your machine; the one you linked to is 16:10.

    Good afternoon,

I am new to this forum, and would need to help me with a doubt in my laptop 7720. A few days ago my 8400M GS graphics card 256 died, I've replaced with a 9300m GS 512. I had trouble at first since you have not detected, but updating the BIOS to version 1.45 everything perfect. The 8400 was the protector, that installing the 9300 I have not, is it necessary?
    Thank you very much!

Yes, you can! Actually, I have replaced my old Intel 3945ABG two years ago but didn't mention it anywhere, I should update my first post here :) Right now I have Intel 4965AGN which supports A/B/G/N standards and it works great. However, my router doesn't support N so I can't tell you if there's any difference. Also, 4965AGN has three connectors, 3945ABG has only two, your 7720G also has only two wires... So, my Wi-Fi card has one connector free right now, and this works without any issues, but I don't know if that third connector is required for N.

Anyway, here is the link: Intel 4965AGN for Acer | eBay This one supports Draft-N.

Thanks a lot ttomrad, i will buy one shortly from ebay, one more problem i encountered is that just now i hate install windows 7 ultimate x64 but in my device manager it says there are drivers missing under other drivers, a310, base system device, base system device, base system device, base system device and unknown device, and my vga is standard vga instead of 8400m.

I read on one of your posts to go to laptop video to go website for nvidia drivers, what about the other ones? How do i get these? There is no support for windows 7 x64 on acer website, should i download vista x64 drivers?

Thanks again for helping so much

    Greetings,
awesome job on that major upgrade, I'm so envyous.
I have the exact same model, except mine came with a T5250.
My question is if the socket is the same for the penryn M3 series.
I think it would be a huge improvement for me to move on to a T9300 but I am not sure if it would fit.

edit: it seems that the socket is the same, altho I'm not sure if with both the t9300 and ddr800 modules the fsb would still be crampled down to 667, I don't think the chipset is 965, what I think is in my aspire should be the mobile version of p45.

Ah ttomrad, the intel 4965agn wireless card is perfect, the third ariel socket is just extra, maybe if you need neutral or something, they gave me a free wire but i dont know what to do with it lol, the wireless N works anyway with just the two wires :D
    take care

@hofman87: T9300 will work fine, I'm using one in my 5720G (a 7720G in a smaller case). 800MHz DDR will be downclocked to 667MHz, however - the chipset only goes up to 667MHz (DDR-wise - 800MHz FSB is fine).

@JIC_E7: The extra antenna matters when using an Intel 5300, 5350, 6300 or Atheros AR9380/9390, where it is required for 450Mbit (3x3 MIMO) operation. On the 4965, all it does is improve reception somewhat (the 4965 only goes up to 2x2 MIMO).

Hello everyone, I recently had a acer 7720g, the old GPU has melted, I recently purchased a 9600M GT from an acer 6930G, so I should not have problems right? Tomorrow I will do the test.
    The processor is a T7500 2.2 ghz, I also installed 2 x 2 GB Corsair 800 MHz and 1 x 160 GB HDD + 1 x 500 GB HDD 7200 RPM
I'm thinking to upgrade the cpu to the T9500 and later blue ray and hd lcd.
I checked the bios version is 1.45.
Stay tuned and keep your fingers crossed ;)

In that case, restore the original INF, open nvac.inf, search for 0649 (the device ID of the 9600M GT), and delete "&SUBSYS_" and everything after it till the end of the line. Do this for all lines containing 0649.

@samuelvega: Do the same as maxoverclock.

Ok perfect, the notebook works perfectly, the classification of win 7 64 bit is: 5.4 CPU - 5.4 RAM - Video 6.4 - games 6.4 - 5.9 hdd
I tried a 3d mark 06 and the result is: about 5800 points

probably not the right section but I would have this question .... do you think it is convenient to an exchange with a sony vaio VPC-EC1M1E/WI: i3-330 CPU 2.13 Ghz - 4 Gb DDR3 RAM - 17 "1600 * 900 - VGA ATI 5470 512 Mb
What do you think? The video card is integrated mounts, or you can change?
