I'm looking for help on disassembling my Aspire 7740G.I want to find my PLL chip for oc'ing.I guess i would somehow need to remove my keyboard? All attempts on my side failed (I removed all the screws i found still no success)A service manual or some info would be nice.

    Thanks in advance

Would love to see that as well. Actually, I'd kill for just a peep under the hood ;)

Unfortunately, we can't share Acer service guides here on the forums due to NBR's rules against breaking EULAs.
That being said, the 7740G is a relatively new model; the guide may simply haven't leaked yet.

As a very very general rule if you have removed all the screws from the underside the keyboard will be released by easing it out from 3- 5 retaining clips at the top edge, then flexing it to release the side then disconnecting very carefully the cable (may need a release clip lifted on the MB connector.

If you can't see any retaining clips then turn your attention to removing the panel above the keyboard (speaker/hinge cover) which may then expose fixing clips or screws.

This is very general advice . . you are looking at a 7740 while I (sadly) am not)

According to Acer's specifications, that's a big fat no.

There are three screws in the battery compartment closest to the outer edge of the laptop that you will need to take out to be able to remove the middle cover between the keyboard and LCD. Once this comes off there will be two latches holding in the keyboard.

I'm typing this on a 7740, and I too would like to take a shot at overclocking, since these chips have shown such great potential and since under the heaviest load I can shell out, the CPU only just warms up a little bit. I've not yet disassembled this one, and I probably will soon just to add a woofer, but if anyone's gotten that PLL already, or better yet if anyone has the codes to OC using Linux PLL software, I'd very much appreciate it.
