I am interested in using a miniSATA SSD as a 2nd drive (well as the boot drive) in my acer aspire 7741G. I previous attempted to do so with an OCZ NOCTI 120gb but to no avail. The drive was not seen in Windows 7 or in the bios (which is the latest from Acer).

Any ideas of how and or if this mini2 slot works or is it merely overlooked in the BIOS and not functional?

is it a mini-pci-E slot, if so it will not work with a minisata drive. The connections are the same but wired differently. Acer has a habit of using the pci-e lanes for one slot and the usb lanes for the second slot for a TV Tuner or usb AirCard.
