I am interested in using a miniSATA SSD as a 2nd drive (well as the boot drive) in my acer aspire 7741G. I previous attempted to do so with an OCZ NOCTI 120gb but to no avail. The drive was not seen in Windows 7 or in the bios (which is the latest from Acer).
Any ideas of how and or if this mini2 slot works or is it merely overlooked in the BIOS and not functional?![]()

is it a mini-pci-E slot, if so it will not work with a minisata drive. The connections are the same but wired differently. Acer has a habit of using the pci-e lanes for one slot and the usb lanes for the second slot for a TV Tuner or usb AirCard.

so can the mPCIE slot be used for a SSD or maybe a wifi card?
Aspire 7741G-6426 mini2 slot (msata?)
