okay, the problem I have is quite unique... how can I put this... While in normal use, my laptop works fine. But when the display is turned off after being idle for say 5 minutes, the backlight stays on (blank white screen). To make things more difficult, when I manually turn the display off, with the Fn+F6 combination, it shuts off perfectly fine, as it should, backlight and all.

The screen is also white for a brief second when I open the lid. (and, if it helps at all, there is also a slight buzzing sound coming the screen when it is set to anything other than full brightness.)

if i can shut the display off fine myself with fn+f6, then shouldnt the computer be capable of doing it correctly itself, without me having to resort t a new LCD or sending it in for expensive repairs, there must be a solution, windows just isnt telling the backlight to shut off when it should.
