    Hello:

I just bought an apsire 8920g I believe the sticker on the bottom said
    AS89206188

    Anyways I also have a Panasonic 46" plasma (TH46PZ80U).

Tried connecting the 8920 to the Panasonic via HDMI and had problems. I have the laptop res set to 1920x1080 which is 1080 resolution.

However when on the Panasonic the screen is too big for the TV. When I put in the demo Blu-Ray disc it won't play on the TV and reports an error.

    What am I doing wrong?

    Thanks in advance,

    Tim

    Hi

Couple of questions / things to try:

    1) You sometimes need to adjust the TV to 'tune' it to read from the laptop. Have you tried anything like that?

    2) What about using a RCA cable or S-Video? Does that work?

    Thanks,

I tried looking for something to tune on the TV last night but to no avail. I will look again. When I do set the lapt resolution to lower it works fine but thats not what I want.

I am wanting to use the Blu-Ray as a blu-ray player. The native resolution of the TV is 1920x1080. I set the laptop resolution to 1920x1080. Laptop HDMI out to TV HDMI in. The imagine is larger than the TV display? Why? Would I get the same thing with a standalone Blu-Ray player? I think not?

I did expect this to be a little more smooth. Obvioulsy, one the design intents with the HDMI out on the laptop was to connect to a TV.

    Any other suggestions out there?!?!?!?!?!?

I will work on it again tonight.

    Thanks,

    Tim
