    Problem:
I have just recently replaced the battery in my Acer Aspire 8930 and I have not been able to get the machine to charge the new battery. The old battery will still charge, which makes me wonder if the old battery has internal components that the machine is checking with before it charges. Initially, the new battery read 3% and charging, but now it only reads 1% and charging and will not keep the laptop powered if the power supply is removed. Any assistance with this matter would be greatly appreciated.

    Attempted Solutions:
    Updated BIOS to version 1.20
    Checked power supply
    Checked the charging plug/pin
    Updated all battery-related drivers

is it an original or a compatible battery ?
let the battery completely run until the laptop shuts off, plug in the charger and let it charge for a day or night over and see if it helps.
it could be that the battery is defect, if possible ask the dealer and try to replace it with another new one.
