The Aspire came with Vista HP 32 and everything worked fine. I took out the OEM HDD and put in an SSD and another HDD. I now have a dual boot system with Vista 64 on the HDD and W7 64 on the SSD. The Fn keys for the brightness control work on the Vista boot but not on the W7 boot. Any ideas why not? The Aspire has the OEM ATI Radeon HD4670 graphics card. Is the Vista 64 driver different than the W7 64 driver? Would the W7 driver override or deactivate the Fn brightness control keys?

Did you install Launch Manager on Win 7 64bit?

No, bit I didn't install it on the Vista boot drive either and the Fn keys work there. I'll install it on the W7 drive and see how it works out. Thanks for the tip.

Installed Launch Manager, did not resolve the issue. All the other Fn keys function as they are supposed to. Anyone have any ideas?

No, doesn't work with SHIFT+FN+ brightness key. Like I said earlier, they work when I dual boot into Vista, so it must be a driver issue. I'm using the latest W7 64 driver from the Acer website, v8.64.3.

Why don't you use the most recent ones from AMD website?

I'll give it a shot and report back.

The newest driver didn't fix the issue. Guess I gotta live with it.
