I successfully flashed my TSST (Toshiba Samsung Storage Technology) TS-L632D drive from AC00 to SC04 yesterday. I noticed many other people out there are looking for a way to flash their OEM TSST TS-L632D drive to the latest Samsung firmware. If you wish to update your TSST TS-L632D (OEM) drive to the latest Samsung firmware (SC04), then follow these instructions:

    Reboot Windows

Download this file containing firmware and flash utility: TS-L632D_SC04.EXE

    Extract the application.

Rename the executable to, and run sfdnwin -nocheck

Load the *.BIN file then do the flash.

Then reboot your laptop and the firmware is updated.

    Enjoy!

I read somewhere that you have to use an older version of SFDNWIN (3.25.X) to use the -nocheck option: SFDNWIN3.25.XX.exe -nocheck.

It's true, version 3.27 ignored the -nocheck option and denied to flash over my DE04 (Dell) with a SC04 version, whereas 3.25.XX went into that special mode (a corresponding text was displayed) and everything went fine.

The DE04 version did not support DVD-RAM, the SC04 does.
I am happy after looking for a solution for a long time!

Check out www.toshibaer.com for the tool, other tools and firmwares.
I got mine there, they have the bin-files, so you have no need to execute potentially unsafe .exes (except for the flash tool).
