Anyone know where one might find Aspire accessories? Like a remote for the IR port in the front, and what about the EU version's HD Tuner?

I've been asking my dealer (in Canada) about the bluetooth phone & the TV tuner which listed as "options" with no luck. Wondering if they're only available in Europe or other countries?

Let me know if you can get it, if so I may have to Paypal you and have you get two! What about a IR remote? This has an IR on the front right. Will any remote work?

The IR on the front is an IrDA port - an infra red data adaptor - mostly used as a simple (but slow) wireless network between your PC and another PC or more commonly between your PC and a cell phone. IrDA ports are two-way and use a different modulation and data rate then conventional remote controls, so the only ones that will work with a TV style remote are those with ASK/TV functionality. Not sure whether the Apsire's IrDA port can do this though.

Here's a link to some shareware software that *may* allow your Aspire to use a conventional TV remote:

    Thanks Travel Matey!

I'm downloading it now to try it out! I have a remote that came with my ATI All-In-Wonder, wonder (no pun intended) if it will work?

I also picked up a small remote that fits in the PCMCIA slot at CompUSA, but requires a USB dongle to get it to work. I'd prefer no dongle since I have the IR on the front. Maybe this one will work? You think?

    Thanks again!

Heh, I use my Bluetooth USB dongle. My phone can make WMP and other media players play/stop/fwd/etc, etc. Can also control the mouse/volume as well. Nice

I have a Treo 650 (w/ bluetooth) and would love to use it as a remote. Anyone tried this successfully yet?
